Pudding Recipe for Pies

This is Grandma Shawna's recipe. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it's delicious!

1 quart milk
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup cornstarch
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2/3 cube margarine
4 tsp. vanilla

Heat milk in double boiler. Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt and eggs together. Add sugar/egg mixture to milk. Cook until thick. Then add margarine and vanilla. Cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 5 hours. Then beat hard with electric mixer until creamy. Keeps at least a week.

For banana cream pie: add pudding to pie crust, then bananas, then pudding. Top with whip cream.

For German chocolate pie: add 1 cup melted chocolate chips plus 1 cup loosely packed coconut plus 1/2 cup chopped pecans to pudding mixture. Top with whip cream.
