Caramel Brownie Bars

1 bx German Chocolate cake mix
1 12 oz Chocolate chips
1 stick Margarine softened
1 c Pecans chopped (optional)
2/3 c Evaporated milk
1 bag Kraft Caramels

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk amd margarine. Pour 1/2 of the mixture into greased, 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on top.

In the microwave, melt the caramels with 1/3 evaporated milk. Pour the caramel mixture over the chips and nuts. Add remainder of the cake batter over top of caramels. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-10 minutes.

Cool completely before cutting. They may not look done, but are.

**Instead of using the kraft caramels with evaporated milk you can instead use 1-2 jar caramel topping or make your own homemade caramel which has been the favorite around here, use 1 batch homemade caramel from post below or find under dessert label.
