This is my aunt Linda's recipe and it is the best sugar cookie recipe that I have tried.
2 eggs
1 cup butter
4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
2 cups sugar
1 cup crisco- butter flavored
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup milk
2 tsp. baking soda
8 cups flour
Let dough refrigerate overnight.
Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.
Frosting:
butter
milk
almond extract
vanilla
powdered sugar
She didn't know quantities...and I'm not a good frosting maker, so you'll have to experiment for yourself.
